Patent Procurement

The firm has a highly sophisticated domestic and foreign patent procurement practice, built on the significant patent acquisition experience of our attorneys. We focus on high value-added procurement services, including strategic services such as building worldwide patent portfolios for clients to ensure creation of technology niches, and implementing ongoing patenting programs to protect R&D investments.

Our attorneys have the experience to build and manage your patent program worldwide. Domestically, the firm has substantial experience in transacting with the U. S. Patent and Trademark Office. The firm offers a complete range of services, including preparation and prosecution of applications for utility, design, and plant patents, as well as reissues, ex parte and inter partes reexaminations, and interferences. In foreign markets, the firm works with a network of foreign associate attorneys who give our clients access to the patent systems of virtually every country in the world. We have extensive experience with international procedures, including those under the Patent Cooperation Treaty.

Our attorneys possess significant experience in electrical, chemical and materials fields, and in particular areas such as computer electronics and networks, digital and analog circuits, software, semiconductor devices and processes, wireless and wireline telecommunications, optics, superconductors, piezoelectrics, advanced metallurgy and ceramics, and nanotechnologies. Our technical skill facilitates efficient communication with your key innovators to develop well-crafted strategies for protecting commercially-significant technologies.
